Metal Work
Writing

Kartoshka means potato. This collection of work revolves around dacha culture in Ukraine. A Dacha is a house out of the city with a plot of land to grow produce, common in Ukrainian families.    A hangover from food shortage and famine in the USSR in the home of Chernozer, an incredibly fertile soil. This piece revolves around memories of working the land with my Babushka written in a journal tell of the hard work of harvest, love and potatoes, celebrated in the making of this shovel for my grandmother.
